Training and Lessons at Rafter P

Chezz Perlini has experience training horses in various disciplines including hunters and jumpers, dressage and reined cow horses. Regardless of your preferred riding style or experience, the basics of timing, consideration for your horse, and consistency in your requests will allow you and your horse to excel together in a safe and efficient manner. 

Rafter P offers the following training and lessons in both English and Western riding styles:
    •    Colt starting
    •    Halter training / groundwork
    •    Foundation training
    •    Trailer loading
    •    Rehabilitation
    •    Performance horse training
    •    Pre-purchase evaluations
    •    Rider training (one on one or group lessons available) 
    •    Monthly horse training (with board)
    •    Professional consulting



Horses and riders can be trained on a one-time or ongoing basis at the Ranch, which has excellent facilities. Lessons are available at an hourly rate of $65 and can be booked in blocks of five at a discounted rate of $300. Chezz can travel to clients within a 15 mile radius for an additional fee of $1 per mile each way.

Horses can also receive monthly residential training at the Ranch for a minimum of thirty days. The $1,200 thirty-day training fee includes all training provided by Chezz, communal pasture board and quality hay as well as four lessons for the owner to be taken with Chezz at Rafter P during the horse's stay. The $1,500 thirty-day training fee includes all of the above, plus an individual stall and solitary turnout at Everleaf Equestrian Center
